Target Information

HIPPI (IFT57)는 섬모 형성에 필수적인 단백질로, sonic hedgehog 신호전달 경로에서 간접적인 역할을 수행합니다. HIP1과 상호작용하여 caspase-8 (CASP8)을 유도함으로써 apoptosis를 촉진하는 기능을 가지며, caspase 유전자 프로모터 내 5'-AAAGACATG-3' 서열에 결합하여 전사 조절자로 작용할 가능성이 제시되었습니다. 그러나 이러한 기능의 생리적 중요성은 아직 명확히 밝혀지지 않았습니다.
