Product Specific Information

This antibody specifically recognizes human RXR alpha and cross-reacts with mouse and rat RXR alpha. It does not recognize human RXR beta or gamma.

Target Information

Retinoic Acid (RA), the active metabolite of vitamin A, plays a key role in regulating the differentiation of proliferating precursor cells such as carcinoma and neuronal precursors. The Retinoid X Receptors (RXRs) family—RXR alpha, beta, and gamma—preferentially bind 9-cis-RA and regulate gene transcription by forming heterodimers with other RA receptors. Retinoids may have therapeutic potential in cervical cancer and are known to influence neuronal development, synaptic plasticity, and learning and memory behaviors.
