Target Information
VAMP7 is a member of the soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor attachment protein receptor (SNARE) family, localizing to late endosomes and lysosomes.
VAMP7 mediates fusion of endosomes to lysosomes and participates in exocytosis events during phagocytosis and neuritogenesis.
It interacts with VARP, a protein regulating endosome dynamics, and with CD82 to modulate EGFR signaling by controlling its endocytosis.
