Target Information

CD47 (integrin-associated protein, IAP) is a ubiquitously expressed transmembrane glycoprotein interacting with several integrins and regulating their functions. Engagement of CD47 modulates signaling pathways including activation of heterotrimeric G proteins and intracellular calcium increase upon cell adhesion. It acts as a receptor for the C-terminal domain of thrombospondin and participates in membrane transport and signal transduction. CD47 interacts with CD172a (SIRP alpha) to inhibit phagocytosis, and influences cell migration, B cell adhesion, T cell activation, chondrocyte mechanotransduction, and neuronal development, especially in synapse-rich brain and retina regions.
