Target Information
WW domain-containing proteins are found in all eukaryotes and play an important role in regulating cellular functions such as protein degradation, transcription, and RNA splicing.
This gene encodes a protein containing four tandem WW domains and a HECT domain, belonging to the NEDD4-like E3 ubiquitin-ligase family that regulates protein trafficking decisions including targeting to proteosomes or lysosomes.
Alternative splicing generates at least six transcript variants, though the full-length nature of these variants has not been defined.
