This gene encodes a protein similar to the breakpoint cluster region gene on chromosome 22.
It contains a GTPase-activating protein domain found in Rho family GTP-binding proteins.
Functional studies in mice indicate a role in vestibular morphogenesis, suggesting Rho-related GTPases help coordinate motor skills and balance.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been reported.
