Target Information
AASDH encodes a member of the non-ribosome peptide synthetase (NRPS) enzyme family. The encoded protein contains:
- AMP-binding domain
- PP-binding (phosphopantetheine, or pantetheine 4′ phosphate-binding) domain
- Pyrrolo-quinoline quinon (PQQ) binding domain
The protein is expressed in several adult tissues. It covalently binds beta-alanine in an ATP-dependent manner to form a thioester bond with its phosphopantetheine group and transfers it to an unknown acceptor.
May be required for a post-translational protein modification or for post-transcriptional modification of an RNA.
