Target Information
Mitochondrial protein that regulates the biogenesis and activity of mitochondria. It stimulates cardiolipin biosynthesis and binds cardiolipin-enriched membranes, recruiting and stabilizing proteins like prohibitin, thereby organizing functional microdomains in mitochondrial membranes. It influences processes such as cell migration, proliferation, T-cell activation, calcium homeostasis, and stress response. It is required for mitochondrial hyperfusion, a pro-survival response increasing ATP production. It may also play a role in plasma membrane organization and T-cell receptor signaling regulation.
