Mouse anti-Sheep TNF alpha, clone VPM61 recognizes ovine tumor necrosis factor (TNF) alpha, a 17 kDa cytokine.
Target Information
TNF alpha is a multifunctional proinflammatory cytokine that belongs to the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily. It is mainly secreted by macrophages and binds to receptors TNFRSF1A/TNFR1 and TNFRSF1B/TNFBR. TNF alpha regulates immune responses, cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, lipid metabolism, and coagulation. It typically forms multimers and appears as a 17 kDa band under non-reducing SDS-PAGE conditions. TNF alpha plays roles in immune defense, tumor necrosis, and has been implicated in autoimmune diseases, insulin resistance, and cancer.
