Target Information
PUF60 encodes a Ro RNP-binding protein that interacts with Ro RNPs, possibly conferring a gain of function. It forms a ternary complex with far upstream element (FUSE) and FUSE-binding protein, repressing c-myc reporter via FUSE. Also interacts with transcription factor IIH to inhibit activated transcription. This gene is implicated in xeroderma pigmentosum disorder, with two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms and evidence of multiple polyadenylation sites.
