Target Information
ADAMTS5, also known as Implantin or Aggrecanase 2, is a member of the ADAM (A Disintegrin And Metalloproteinase) metalloproteinase family containing thrombospondin (TS) repeats. ADAMTS5 was first identified as a protein elevated during the peri-implantation period in mice and later found to be associated with arthritic synovium under the name Aggrecanase 11. It is expressed in various human and mouse tissues, including heart, lung, cervix, uterus, ovary, brain, cartilage, and chondroblastoma cell lines.
