Product Specific Information
The H57-597 monoclonal antibody reacts with the beta chain of mouse TCR. TCR beta is expressed by thymocytes in a developmentally regulated manner and a majority of peripheral T cells. Crosslinking of the TCR complex with H57-597 induces activation and proliferation of T cells or apoptosis depending on assay conditions.
This antibody serves as a phenotypic marker for TCR beta-expressing T cells.

- Applications Tested: Tested on mouse splenocytes at ≤1 µg/test (in 100 µL volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test)
- Excitation / Emission: 633–647 nm / 780 nm (Red laser)
- Light Sensitivity: Protect from light (photo-induced oxidation)
- Fixation: Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark

T cell receptors (TCR) enable discrimination between self and foreign peptides presented by MHC class II molecules, essential for adaptive immune response.
Abnormal TCR recognition is associated with autoimmune diseases and tumors. Superantigen engagement can cause toxic shock syndrome.
Autoantibodies to V beta segments have been isolated from RA and SLE patients and may modulate inflammatory responses.
Most human T cells express TCR alpha-beta with CD4 or CD8; gamma-delta T cells show limited diversity and distinct antigen recognition, contributing to immunoregulatory and antitumor activities.
