Target Information
Post Synaptic Density 95 kDa (PSD-95), also known as synapse associated protein 90 kDa (SAP90), is a membrane-associated protein found in the postsynaptic density of forebrain neurons and certain presynaptic structures in the cerebellum.
PSD-95 contains three PDZ domains, an SH3 domain, and a guanylate kinase (GuK) domain. It participates in clustering of proteins such as NMDA receptors and Shaker-type potassium channels at the synaptic membrane in CNS neurons.
PSD-95 interacts with proteins containing a C-terminal T/SXV motif, including NMDA receptors, potassium channels, and other neuronal proteins. It also associates with neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) through PDZ-PDZ interactions.
