Target Information
CCR8 encodes a member of the beta chemokine receptor family, predicted to be a seven-transmembrane G protein-coupled receptor. Chemokines and their receptors play crucial roles in directing cell migration to inflammatory sites. CCR8 is preferentially expressed in the thymus, with known ligands including I-309, TARC, and MIP-1β. This receptor is implicated in monocyte chemotaxis regulation, thymic cell apoptosis, and positioning of activated T cells within antigenic challenge sites and lymphoid tissues. Expression has been observed in spleen, thymus, NK cells, monocytes, and T cells, with lower levels in peripheral blood leukocytes.
