Target Information
The 3′,5′-cyclic nucleotides cAMP and cGMP act as second messengers in many signal transduction pathways. Cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterases (PDEs) hydrolyze cAMP and cGMP to their corresponding 5′-monophosphates, providing a mechanism to downregulate cAMP and cGMP signaling. The PDE7B gene encodes a cAMP-specific phosphodiesterase, belonging to the cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase family.
