A suggested positive control for this product is placenta lysate.
Target Information
The product of the DEGS1 gene is a member of the membrane fatty acid (sphingolipid delta 4) desaturase family. It functions by inserting double bonds at the delta 4 position in fatty acids. DEGS1 is an intracellular enzyme, and overexpression has been reported to inhibit biosynthesis of the EGF receptor, suggesting a role in regulating its biosynthetic processing. Two splice variants have been identified.
