Product Specific Information
- Percent identity with other species by BLAST analysis:
Human, Gorilla, Gibbon, Monkey (100%); Marmoset, Rat (94%); Hamster, Dog, Bovine, Rabbit (88%); Mouse, Panda, Horse (82%). - For IHC(P), use heat-induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer.
After incubation with the primary antibody, slides were incubated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen.
Target Information
Phosphorylation of receptors by protein kinases is a process that can be reversed by a group of enzymes called protein phosphatases. Coordinated control of kinases and phosphatases allows cells to switch rapidly between phosphorylated and dephosphorylated states in response to environmental stimuli. Dysregulation of this balance can lead to uncontrolled cell growth, contributing to cancer and developmental disorders.
Mechanisms controlling dephosphorylation include:
- Expression changes of protein phosphatases
- Subcellular localization
- Phosphorylation of phosphatase catalytic and regulatory subunits
- Regulation by endogenous phosphatase inhibitors
Because most protein phosphatases are not highly substrate-specific, alterations in their activity can broadly affect the turnover of phosphoproteins across multiple signaling pathways.
