Target Information
Replication protein A (RPA) is a single-stranded DNA binding protein involved in numerous eukaryotic DNA processes including replication, repair, and recombination.
RPA interacting protein (RPA IP) functions as an adapter protein involved in RPA nuclear import, differing from typical importin-mediated pathways.
Multiple isoforms of RPA IP exist: the longest isoform is cytoplasmic, while isoform 2 is sumoylated and localized in the PML nuclear body. This isoform may mediate localization of the RPA complex into the PML nuclear body, supporting RPA’s role in DNA metabolism.
