Target Information
Poly ADP-Ribose Polymerase (PARP) uses oxidized nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD⁺) as a substrate to catalyze the transfer of ADP-ribose to various nuclear protein acceptors. Proteolysis of PARP to its stable 85 kDa fragment is an early marker of apoptosis and is mediated by caspase CPP32. Cleavage occurs between Asp216 and Gly217, a conserved site across species.
