Target Information
Corticotropin-releasing factor receptor 1 (CRFR1/CRHR1) is involved in mediating the stress response and anxiety-related behaviors. Mutations of this receptor reduce anxiety-related behaviors and may be associated with Cushing disease. Multiple isoforms are produced by alternative splicing. CRFR1 is expressed in the pituitary, adrenal gland, brain, colon, ovary, placenta, testis, white blood cells, and skin. ESTs have been isolated from human brain, eye, colon, and embryo libraries.
