Target Information
CD138 (syndecan 1)은 세포막에 존재하는 트랜스멤브레인 프로테오글리칸으로, 다양한 사이토카인과 결합하여 그들의 활성 및 세포외기질 구성요소의 기능을 조절합니다.
이 단백질은 주로 분화 중인 케라티노사이트에서 발현되며, 조직 손상 시 일시적으로 표피의 모든 층에서 발현이 증가합니다.
또한 형질세포(plasma cell)에서 높게 발현되며, 섬유아세포, 혈관 평활근세포, 내피세포에서도 검출될 수 있습니다.
CD138의 세포 표면 발현 증감은 종종 암세포 특성과 연관되어 있으며, 혈청 내 용해형 sCD138의 농도는 암 발생의 예후 인자로 사용됩니다.
