Product Specific Information
PA1-740 detects synaptosomal associated protein 25 (SNAP-25) from bovine, mouse, rat, and zebrafish samples.
It has been successfully used in Western blot and immunofluorescence procedures. By Western blot, this antibody detects a 25 kDa protein representing SNAP-25 in whole rat brain, mouse brain, and zebrafish extracts.
Immunofluorescence staining of SNAP-25 in cultured rat hippocampal cells yields a pattern consistent with cytoplasmic and plasma membrane localization.
PA1-740 immunizing peptide corresponds to the C-terminal amino acid residues 195–206 of mouse SNAP-25. This sequence is completely conserved among mouse, rat, human, chicken, and goldfish.
The immunizing peptide (Cat. # PEP-032) is available for use in neutralization and control experiments.
Target Information
SNAP25 is a t-SNARE involved in the molecular regulation of neurotransmitter release.
It plays a role in the synaptic function of specific neuronal systems and associates with proteins involved in vesicle docking and membrane fusion.
Additionally, it regulates plasma membrane recycling through interaction with CENPF.
Mutations in this gene can result in myasthenic syndrome.
