Target Information
Nuclear factor kB p65 (NF-kB p65) is encoded by the RELA gene located on chromosome 11 in humans. Also known as RelA, it belongs to the Rel family of proteins and forms a heterodimer with p50 or p52 subunits to create the NF-kB transcription factor complex. NF-kB p65 plays a key role in the transcription of the immunoglobulin kappa gene in mature B-lymphoid cells. Activation occurs through TNF-α–induced phosphorylation of IKK, leading to phosphorylation and degradation of IκB, allowing NF-kB translocation to the nucleus.
