MA1-40065 detects Collagen II from mouse, rat, bovine, chicken, and human samples.
It has been successfully used in immunohistochemistry (frozen and paraffin), ELISA, and functional assays.

Target Information
COL2A1 encodes the alpha-1 chain of type II collagen, a fibrillar collagen found in cartilage and the vitreous humor of the eye.
Mutations in COL2A1 are associated with several skeletal and connective tissue disorders, including achondrogenesis, chondrodysplasia, early onset familial osteoarthritis, SED congenita, Langer-Saldino achondrogenesis, Kniest dysplasia, Stickler syndrome type I, and spondyloepimetaphyseal dysplasia Strudwick type.
Defects in chondrocalcin processing, a calcium-binding protein that is the C-propeptide of this collagen molecule, are also linked to chondrodysplasia.
