Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Goat Serum as well as purified and partially purified Glutathione-S-Transferase (Schistosoma japonicum). Cross-reactivity against Glutathione-S-Transferase from other sources may occur but has not been specifically determined.
Target Information
GST (Glutathione S-transferase) is a 26 kDa protein present in both eukaryotes and prokaryotes, catalyzing various reactions. It is commonly used to create the GST gene fusion system, allowing purification of GST-fusion proteins via their high affinity for glutathione. Fusion proteins are valuable tools for studying direct protein–protein interactions. The GST gene fusion system has been incorporated into numerous expression vectors.
