Target Information
Laminin is a non-collagenous protein of basement membranes. It has a cross-like structure with one long arm (~400 kDa) and three short arms (~200 kDa). Antibodies to laminin localize specifically in basement membranes, showing strong reactivity in the lamina lucida adjacent to the cell membrane. Laminin binds to type IV collagen and plays an important role in cell adhesion and attachment both in vivo and in vitro.
