Product Specific Information

The UC10-4B9 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD152 (CTLA-4), a protein structurally similar to CD28. CTLA-4 is expressed on activated T cells and binds CD80 (B7-1) and CD86 (B7-2) with higher affinity than CD28, delivering inhibitory signals that restrict T-cell activation by reducing IL-2 secretion and proliferation.

Due to its intracellular localization, detection may require assessment of both surface and intracellular expression.

Experimental Notes

  • Tested by intracellular staining and flow cytometric analysis of stimulated mouse splenocytes.
  • Recommended use ≤ 0.5 µg/test (100 µL final volume).
  • Adjust cell number empirically (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
  • Carefully titrate antibody for optimal performance.

Target Information

CTLA4 (Cytotoxic T-Lymphocyte Antigen 4) is a CD28-family receptor mainly expressed on CD4+ T cells. It binds CD80 and CD86 with higher affinity than CD28, delivering inhibitory signals that suppress T-cell activation. Intracellular CTLA4 is also found in regulatory T cells and contributes to their suppressive function.
