Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
TET2 is a dioxygenase that catalyzes the conversion of 5-methylcytosine (5mC) into 5-hydroxymethylcytosine (5hmC), playing a key role in active DNA demethylation. It further mediates the conversion of 5hmC to 5-formylcytosine (5fC) and 5-carboxylcytosine (5caC), representing steps in cytosine demethylation.
Additionally, TET2 recruits O-GlcNAc transferase (OGT) to CpG-rich transcription start sites, promoting histone H2B GlcNAcylation.
Mutations in TET2 are associated with Polycythemia vera and Myelodysplastic syndrome.
