마우스에서 ATOH8은 뇌의 신경 세포 계통의 명세 및 분화에 관여하며, 신장 발달에도 참여할 수 있습니다.
최근 연구에 따르면 ATOH8은 췌장 발달 중 전사 네트워크의 새로운 구성 요소로, pro-endocrine 인자 Neurog3에 의해 유도되는 분화 프로그램의 조절자로 작용할 가능성이 있습니다.
