Target Information
Cytochrome P450 proteins (CYPs) are monooxygenases that catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and the synthesis of cholesterol, steroids, and other lipids.
CYP4F11 is an isoform of the cytochrome P450 4F protein, mainly expressed in human liver, followed by kidney, heart, and skeletal muscle.
It contains 524 amino acid residues sharing 80.0%, 82.3%, and 79.2% identity with CYP4F2, CYP4F3, and CYP4F8, respectively.
CYP4F11 exhibits catalytic activity toward endogenous eicosanoids and certain clinically relevant drugs, and can metabolize large molecules such as erythromycin.
