FUCA2 (Alpha-L-fucosidase)는 글리코스핑고리피드 및 글리코프로틴의 말단 α-L-푸코시드 결합을 가수분해하는 효소입니다. 인간에서는 최소 두 가지 다형성 α-L-푸코시다아제가 존재하며, FUCA2 유전자는 혈장 및 섬유아세포 내 α-L-푸코시다아제 수준을 조절하지만 백혈구에서는 그렇지 않습니다. 푸코시도시스에서는 혈장과 백혈구 모두에서 α-L-푸코시다아제 결핍이 나타납니다.
