This product is a chimeric monoclonal antibody combining the constant domains of the human IgG1 molecule with mouse variable regions. The antibody was produced using recombinant antibody technology.
Target Information
IL-6 is a cytokine encoded by the IL6 gene that plays a key role in inflammation and B cell maturation. It acts as an endogenous pyrogen, inducing fever in autoimmune or infectious conditions. IL-6 is secreted at sites of acute and chronic inflammation and triggers transcriptional inflammatory responses via the interleukin 6 receptor alpha. Dysregulation of IL-6 signaling is implicated in various inflammation-related diseases, including diabetes mellitus, systemic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, and viral infections such as COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2). Elevated IL-6 levels are also associated with Kaposi Sarcoma and Rheumatoid Arthritis.
