Target Information
HSD11B2는 코르티솔과 코르티손 간의 상호 전환에 관여하는 미소체 효소 복합체의 두 가지 아이소자임 중 하나를 암호화합니다. Type I isozyme은 코르티솔을 코르티손으로, 코르티손을 코르티솔로 전환하는 두 가지 활성을 가지며, Type II isozyme은 오직 11-β-dehydrogenase 활성을 가집니다.
신장 등 알도스테론 선택적 상피조직에서 Type II isozyme은 코르티솔을 불활성 대사산물인 코르티손으로 전환하여 미네랄코르티코이드 수용체의 비정상적 활성화를 방지합니다.
태반 및 고환과 같이 미네랄코르티코이드 수용체를 발현하지 않는 조직에서는 코르티솔의 성장 억제 및 세포자멸 효과로부터 세포를 보호합니다.
이 유전자의 돌연변이는 명백한 미네랄코르티코이드 과잉 증후군과 고혈압을 유발할 수 있습니다.
