Product Specific Information

HVEM (CD270) is a type I transmembrane protein and a member of the TNFR superfamily with a molecular weight of approximately 30 kDa. It is expressed on hematopoietic cells including T cells, B cells, dendritic cells, monocytes, neutrophils, and NK cells. HVEM regulates lymphocyte activation and immune homeostasis, and activates NF-κB through the TNF-related cytokine LIGHT during T cell activation.

Target Information

TNFRSF14, a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily, acts as a cellular mediator for herpes simplex virus (HSV) entry via binding of viral glycoprotein D (gD). Its cytoplasmic region interacts with TRAF family members to mediate signal transduction pathways that activate immune responses. Activation of TNFRSF14 in T cells promotes proliferation and cytokine production, contributing to inflammation and enhanced CTL-mediated tumor immunity. These properties suggest TNFRSF14 as a potential target for modulating cellular immune responses. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified, though some full-length forms remain undetermined.
