Target Information
Liver X receptors (LXRA and LXRB) are members of the nuclear receptor superfamily and play crucial roles in macrophage function, regulating transcriptional programs involved in lipid homeostasis and inflammation.
LXRA is highly expressed in liver, adrenal gland, intestine, adipose tissue, macrophages, lung, and kidney, while LXRB is ubiquitously expressed.
Ligand-activated LXRs form heterodimers with retinoid X receptors and regulate expression of target genes containing LXR response elements.
