Target Information
In vertebrates, homeobox genes are organized in clusters (A, B, C, and D) on four chromosomes. The HOXA10 gene, part of the A cluster on chromosome 7, encodes a DNA-binding transcription factor involved in gene expression regulation, morphogenesis, and differentiation. HOXA10 plays roles in fertility, embryo viability, and hematopoietic lineage regulation. Alternatively spliced transcript variants and read-through transcription with HOXA9 have been described.
