Product Specific Information
The mA-6E1 monoclonal antibody reacts with the heavy chain of mouse IgA.
It does not react with other antibody isotypes (IgD, IgG, IgM) or with other species isotypes.
IgA, mainly found as a dimer via J chain association, is present in mucous secretions but not in plasma.
Fluorochrome-conjugated mA-6E1 is used as a secondary detection antibody for mouse IgA primaries.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested on mouse splenocytes stained with mouse IgA primary antibody.
Recommended ≤ 0.25 µg per test (100 µL final volume).
Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.
Antibody titration recommended for optimal performance.

Target Information
Mouse IgA is an immunoglobulin A antibody produced by B cells in response to antigen exposure.
It plays a crucial role in the mucosal immune system, protecting against pathogens entering through mucosal surfaces (respiratory, gastrointestinal, urogenital tracts).
Composed of two heavy and two light chains, it is the most abundant immunoglobulin in mucosal secretions.
Functions include pathogen neutralization and prevention of surface attachment.
Mouse IgA is widely used in ELISA, Western blotting, and immunohistochemistry.
