The Human Osteopontin (OPN) Simplex ProcartaPlex™ Kit measures Osteopontin (OPN) protein and is designed to be combinable with other Simplex kits, allowing users to create customized multiplex panels utilizing Luminex xMAP technology for protein detection and quantitation.
When combining multiple Simplex kits (not using a pre-configured Multiplex Panel), only one buffer kit (sold separately) is required per assay plate regardless of plex size.

About ProcartaPlex Assays for the Luminex Platform

ProcartaPlex immunoassays are based on the sandwich ELISA principle, using two specific antibodies binding to different epitopes of one protein to quantify multiple protein targets simultaneously with a Luminex instrument.
These assays require as little as 25 μL of plasma or serum, or 50 μL of cell culture supernatant, and provide analyzed results in about four hours.

ProcartaPlex assays utilize Luminex xMAP (multianalyte profiling) technology for simultaneous detection and quantitation of up to 80 protein targets in a single sample from plasma, serum, or cell culture supernatants.
Each Luminex bead is internally dyed with unique proportions of red and infrared fluorophores, creating spectrally distinct signatures identifiable by Luminex systems (e.g., Luminex 200, FLEXMAP 3D, MAGPIX).

In a multiplexed assay, each bead is labeled with antibodies specific for a single target protein. Bound proteins are detected with biotinylated antibodies and streptavidin–R-phycoerythrin (RPE).
Unlike traditional ELISA, the capture antibody in ProcartaPlex assays is conjugated to a bead rather than adsorbed to a microplate well, enabling free-floating reactions and higher efficiency.

ProcartaPlex multiplex panels are available for multiple species (human, mouse, rat, nonhuman primate, porcine, canine).
