Integrin alpha-7은 인간의 ITGA7 유전자에 의해 암호화된 단백질로, 염색체 12q13.2에 위치합니다. 이 단백질은 인테그린 알파 체인 계열에 속하며, 인테그린은 알파 및 베타 체인으로 구성된 이합체 막 단백질입니다. 인테그린은 세포 간 및 세포-기질 간 상호작용을 매개하여 세포 이동, 형태 발달, 분화, 전이 과정에 관여합니다.
Integrin alpha-7은 기저막 단백질인 laminin-1의 수용체로 작용하며, 주로 골격근과 심장근육에서 발현되어 근형성과정 중 분화 및 이동에 관여할 수 있습니다.
