Target Information
The TRIM24 protein mediates transcriptional control via interaction with the activation function 2 (AF2) region of nuclear receptors such as estrogen, retinoic acid, and vitamin D3 receptors.
It localizes to nuclear bodies and associates with chromatin and heterochromatin-associated factors.
TRIM24 belongs to the tripartite motif (TRIM) family, containing three zinc-binding domains (RING, B-box type 1, B-box type 2) and a coiled-coil region.
Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described.
