이 단백질은 신경 및 내분비 세포의 분비 소포에서 발견되며, vasostatin, pancreastatin, parastatin의 전구체로 작용합니다.
이들 펩타이드는 신경내분비계의 자가/측분비 음성 조절자로 기능합니다.
CHGA는 카르시노이드 종양, 갈색세포종, 부신경절종 및 기타 신경내분비 종양의 우수한 마커입니다.
