Target Information
The SRSF9 protein belongs to the serine/arginine (SR)-rich family of pre-mRNA splicing factors, components of the spliceosome. Each factor contains an RNA recognition motif (RRM) for RNA binding and an RS domain for protein interactions. The RS domain, rich in serine and arginine residues, facilitates interactions among SR splicing factors. SR proteins are also involved in mRNA export from the nucleus and translation. Two pseudogenes for this gene exist on chromosomes 15 and 21.
