Target Information
VPS28 gene encodes a protein involved in endosomal sorting of cell surface receptors via the multivesicular body/late endosome pathway. It is one of the three subunits of the ESCRT-I complex, which mediates sorting of ubiquitinated proteins. Other subunits include TSG101 and VPS37. Two alternative transcripts encoding different isoforms have been described.
