Target Information
이 유전자는 angiotensin I을 생리활성 펩타이드인 angiotensin II로 전환시키는 효소를 암호화합니다.
Angiotensin II는 혈압 조절 및 체액-전해질 균형을 유지하는 강력한 혈관수축 및 알도스테론 자극 펩타이드입니다.
이 효소는 renin-angiotensin 시스템에서 핵심적인 역할을 하며, 287 bp Alu 반복 요소의 존재 여부가 순환 효소 수준 또는 심혈관 병리와 관련되어 있음이 보고되었습니다.
이 유전자의 두 주요 스플라이싱 변이체는 동일하게 활성적인 체세포형과 고환형 아이소자임을 암호화합니다. 추가적인 스플라이싱 변이체도 확인되었으나 전체 길이는 규명되지 않았습니다.
