Target Information
HIF-2 alpha (Epas1) is a transcription factor involved in the induction of genes regulated by oxygen. It contains a basic-helix-loop-helix domain and a protein dimerization domain, participating in oxygen response signal transduction. HIF-2 alpha regulates VEGF expression and contributes to blood vessel and lung tubular system development. Mutations are associated with erythrocytosis familial type 4.
