Target Information
CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, comprising about 10% of lymphocyte surface proteins. It is absent in non-hematopoietic tissues.
CD45 glycoprotein is essential in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling, regulating Src-family kinases.
CD45 exists in multiple isoforms due to alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing transmembrane and cytoplasmic domains.
CD45RA is a restricted isoform expressed among lymphoid cell subtypes. Isoform expression varies by cell type and physiological state.
CD45 regulates T- and B-cell receptor signaling, suppresses JAK kinases, and modulates integrin-mediated pathways, apoptosis, and other immune functions.
