Target Information
MAPK11 (p38 beta) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in various cellular processes and is activated by proinflammatory cytokines and environmental stress. The protein encoded by p38 MAPK beta belongs to the MAP kinase family, which integrates multiple biochemical signals and participates in processes such as proliferation, differentiation, transcription regulation, and development. This kinase is closely related to p38 MAP kinase and is activated by MAP kinase kinases (MKKs), preferably MKK6. Transcription factor ATF2/CREB2 has been identified as a substrate of this kinase.
