Target Information
Aquaporin 12 (AQP12)는 포유류 AQP 패밀리 중 가장 최근에 확인된 단백질로, 췌장 선세포(pancreatic acinar cells)에 특이적으로 발현됩니다.
In vitro 발현 연구에서 AQP12는 세포 내 위치에 존재함이 확인되었습니다.
AQP12의 생리학적 역할을 규명하기 위해 AQP12 결손 마우스(AQP12-KO)를 제작하였으며, 정상 조건에서는 WT와 AQP12-KO 간에 성장, 혈액 화학, 췌장액 함량, 조직학적 차이가 관찰되지 않았습니다.
그러나 CCK-8 유사체를 투여하여 췌장염을 유도했을 때, AQP12-KO 마우스는 WT보다 더 심한 조직 손상을 보였습니다.
