Background
Dual specificity phosphatase 10 (DUSP10) is a human enzyme that inactivates target kinases by dephosphorylating both phosphoserine/threonine and phosphotyrosine residues. It negatively regulates members of the MAP kinase superfamily, which are involved in cellular proliferation and differentiation. Different members of this phosphatase family show distinct substrate specificities, tissue distributions, subcellular localizations, and expression patterns induced by extracellular stimuli. DUSP10 binds to and inactivates p38 and SAPK/JNK. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. (RefSeq, Apr 2014)
