배경 정보
The protein encoded by this gene is a bZIP transcription factor that can bind as a homodimer to specific DNA regulatory regions and form heterodimers with CEBP-delta. It plays an essential role in terminal differentiation and functional maturation of granulocyte progenitor cells. Mutations in this gene are associated with Specific Granule Deficiency, a rare congenital disorder. Multiple variants exist, but only one full-length form has been determined. (RefSeq, Jul 2008)
